Unspoken Words

Words either written or spoken sometimes get us into big trouble. Often it's a question of interpretation or should that be misinterpretation?







"A closed mouth gathers no foot" this made me smile.....................






There's a phrase "I know you believe you heard what you thought I said, but is what you heard what I really meant?"






Sometimes we can have an over-active imagination and hear what we want to hear. On the other hand, quite often very close friends can communicate quite effectively without a word being said.






Unspoken Words






Silence, they say, is golden


Some things are best unsaid


A word could spoil a notion


Imagined in my head


I haven’t heard you speaking


Have yet to hear your voice


But know the words unspoken


Will make my heart rejoice


I know you’re thinking of me


The knowledge that you care


Means more to me than anything


Mere words cannot compare


No need for silence broken


There is nothing that I lack


For once a word is spoken


You cannot take it back


Sweet silences are golden


Strange as it may appear


Whilst you remain quite silent


I hear what I want to hear
