Now you see me now you don’t
I let you gaze into my soul
For one brief second then I won’t
And in return I catch a brief glimpse of the real you
We choose the ones we let behind the façade
Of our true selves and share a knowing glance
For one brief moment let down our guard
And let our eyes speak a thousand words
Then once we’ve made a firm connection
We no longer need play at ‘peek-a-boo’
The shutters come down and true feelings
Can be revealed and then shine through
We give and take in equal parts
One day we give the next receive
Fulfilling bodies, souls and hearts
And satisfying all desires and needs
With child-like trust without a word
We take the hands of fellow men
And stride the earth now self-assured
As we share our strengths and face our fears
But take time apart and find a quiet place
To make yet another important connection
Focus within yourself and your own space
Use these precious moments for inner-reflection
